HOW TO MAKE MISSISSIPPI POT ROAST ON THE STOVETOP
Step 1: Sear for Maximum Flavor
Preheat your stockpot over medium heat (about 275°F) for 4–5 minutes. Test by flicking a few drops of water into the pan—if they dance, it’s ready.
Place the chuck roast into the dry pan. It will stick at first—that’s normal. After 4–5 minutes, it will naturally release once caramelized.
Flip and sear the other side.
Step 2: Build the Flavor
Sprinkle ranch seasoning and brown gravy mix evenly over the roast.
Add pepperoncini peppers and a splash of their juice.
Top with butter. Cover, close the vent, and reduce heat to medium-low (about 200°F).
When small bubbles form around the rim, the roast is at the perfect temperature.
Cook covered for approximately 2 hours.
🔥 Traditional methods take 8–12 hours. This stovetop method delivers the same tender, fall-apart results in a fraction of the time.
WATERLESS GARLIC MASHED POTATOES
Scrub and quarter potatoes. Soak briefly in filtered water to remove excess starch and chlorine.
Place potatoes in saucepan with garlic and rosemary.
Cover with vent open and heat to 275°F. Once the whistle sounds, close the vent and reduce heat to 200°F.
The natural moisture clinging to the potatoes creates steam—no added water needed.
Cook 30 minutes.
Mash with butter, cream cheese, sour cream, and milk until smooth and creamy.
TO SERVE
Shred the roast directly in the pot, mixing into the rich, savory gravy.
Spoon generously over garlic mashed red potatoes.
Garnish with fresh rosemary or chopped parsley.
Serve hot and enjoy the ultimate Southern comfort meal.
